Rihanna is the 'Barbados Ambassador For Culture And Youth'

Just one day after she celebrated her 20th birthday, the pop sensation Rihanna was named the 'Ambassador for Culture and Youth' for her home country of Barbados on Thursday night.

 

She was given the title by Prime Minister David Thompson at a tribute concert held in her honor in 'Independence Square'.

 

Rihanna said, "I really don't know what to say. I am so grateful and I have never been more proud to be Bajan".

Barbados to have a new national holiday - Rihanna Day

Rihanna is all set to be honored with a national holiday in her home country of Barbados.

 

The 'Umbrella' singer is said to be thrilled after discovering that the Caribbean island will declare February 21, 'Rihanna Day'.

A source said, "She's really flattered. She can't believe she now has her own national day, it's such an honor".

 

Rihanna will fly out to Barbados to accept the honor and perform a free concert.

 

She will apparently be accompanied on the trip by Chris Brown.

 

The pair have denied dating but Chris celebrated her birthday early last week along with friends including Kanye West and actor Wilmer Valderrama at Los Angeles's Les Deux nightclub.

 

Chris sang an acappella version of 'Happy Birthday' to Rihanna and onlookers said that the pair were "cuddling and acting very cozy all night".

Mel B admits she used to be a "b*tch" to Geri Halliwell

Mel B admits that she was tough on her band-mate Geri Halliwell during the group's 90s heyday but says that their reunion tour made their friendship much stronger.

 

She said, "If Geri gets her dancing wrong now I tell her. But in the old days I may have done it in a b*tchy way, but it's much more sisterly now. I want her to look fantastic and get it right. Everybody knows that Geri and I have had our problems in the past, but having time apart and then coming back together has been incredibly healing. We have a real bond and, amazingly, our daughters, Angel and Bluebell, are completely fascinated by each other".

 

Mel also revealed that Geri inspired her to appear on the hit U.S. TV show 'Dancing With The Stars'. Mel, who finished second in the competition, told 'Grazia' magazine, "I wanted to show everyone what I could do. I talked to Geri and she was right behind me, telling me to go for it and knock everybody dead".

Eva Longoria Parker looks fabulous in a sexy new advertising campaign for the women's fashion line, 'Bebe Sport'.

 

The advertisements are more than a little revealing and continue Eva's sexy image which is something that she has maintained even after getting married to the basketball star Tony Parker last July.

 

Eva Longoria replaced the actress Mischa Barton as the face of Bebe and Bebe Sport last year and at that time she said, "I used to be an aerobics instructor so I really know what works well for that type of activity. I love how stylish and comfortable the collection is".

Elle Macpherson said to be dating a 21 year old toy-boy.

The 44 year old supermodel Elle Macpherson has been on a series of romantic dates with Vito Schnabel, who is the son of the acclaimed film director Julian Schnabel and they are said to be smitten with each other.

 

'One' says, "Everyone is buzzing about this. They make such a hot couple".

 

The couple are set to make their first public appearance together tonight when she collects an award for her lingerie collection at New York's Cipriani restaurant.

 

Last week, it was claimed Elle was dating war photographer Scott Douglas after offering him a shoulder to cry on following his split from her friend, the controversial British artist Tracey Emin.

 

However, whilst Douglas admitted his situation is "complex", he insisted he is just friends with the Australian beauty.

Elle split from Arpad Busson, her ex-fiancé and father of her children, in 2005.

 

Since their separation, Elle has been romantically linked to singer Bryan Adams, British actor Ray Fearon and Australian restaurateur David Evans.

 

Elle was previously married to fashion photographer Gilles Bensimon, whom she divorced in 1989.

The February issue of Teen Vogue will feature the R 'n 'B singer Rihanna with a milk mustache, encouraging teens to drink three glasses of low-fat milk every day.

 

The 19 year old star from Barbados born star was recently crowned the sexiest female musician by the lingerie company 'Victoria's Secret'.

 

Other celebrities who have campaigned for "Got Milk?" recently include actresses Hayden Panettiere and Mischa Barton.
